Ministry Vision

We live in a fallen and broken world and the only hope for mankind is Jesus Christ. According to the commandment given to the Church in Matthew 28:19-20, we the body of believers of New Hope agreed on the mission statement to “Bring In, Build Up, Equip For, and Send Forth”. The focus of this ministry is to equip members to “go and tell” others about the power of the gospel to change their lives in word and deed. Sharing our faith and modeling Christ’s love to others through ministries of kindness, support and discipleship.

Acts 1:8 NIV… But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth… Has the ministries of New Hope touched your life in a meaningful way? Now is your chance to make a difference in someone else’s life. Is the Lord calling you to be involved in a life changing in-reach/outreach ministry here at NHMBC? Are you willing to give one Tuesday evening per month to visit with and minister to others?

What Is G.R.O.W.?

Simply put, G.R.O.W. is an exciting strategy for outreach, visitation and evangelism which offers every member of New HopeSUNP0120-1 M.B Church an avenue for participation in outreach to our community. The G.R.O.W. acrostic stands for “God Rewards Our Work.” As a member of a G.R.O.W. Team this work might mean letter writing, phone calling, intercessory prayer or visitation. There is a place for everyone to be effective in their comfort zone. G.R.O.W. is designed so that members of our church can commit to one (1) hour and fifteen (15) minutes once a month for visitation (or 15 hours of outreach per year). Through a team effort we can mobilize our church to grow and reach people for Jesus Christ on a consistent, systemic basis. The objective of the G.R.O.W. Visitation Ministry is to involve as many of our members as we can in an in-reach/outreach visitation program. EXPERIENCE IS NOT REQUIRED! However, commitment is essential. Our G.R.O.W. members are split into teams of 2-6 people, so there will always be someone to help show you the ropes.

How does G.R.O.W. work?

G.R.O.W. will meet every Tuesday evening at 6:45 p.m. (except for the 5th Tuesday night – no visitation on those nights) and will consist of four teams. Each team is then further broken down into 2-6 member teams which will do the actual in-home visitation. Each team is represented by a letter in the acrostic G.R.O.W. Each team meets only once a month from 6:45 till 8:15 p.m. We will try to be finished by 8:15 p.m. The G.R.O.W.

Through G.R.O.W. who and what types of visits will we make?

SUNP0057-1There are two primary avenues of in-reach/outreach through the G.R.O.W. Visitation Ministry. G.R.O.W. incorporates outreach visitation through church prospect visits, and in-reach visitation through member care, such as, in-home, hospital/hospice, nursing homes, and crisis/care ministry. There are also two secondary avenues of in-reach as well: those who are active in our church but have for some reason missed church or Small Group for three consecutive Sundays and those who have for some reason have not attended church or Small Group for several months. G.R.O.W. is also a time when we can share the Gospel with those who desire to have a life-changing experience with Christ. G.R.O.W. is unique in that it is so versatile in meeting a wide variety of outreach ministry needs. Every member of the church could feasibly be involved in G.R.O.W. You will never be asked to make a visit that you are unequipped for or uncomfortable with. While the main focus of G.R.O.W. is in-home visitation, we will also have plenty of opportunities to make telephone calls, write letters and e-mails, and send postcards as the need arises…

How do I get started in G.R.O.W.?Community Outreach-1

Overview and training will be given. All we are asking you to do is to commit to just twelve (12) nights a year. God can’t bless our work if we don’t do the work and God will not reward our work if we have no workers. To fulfill our Lord’s command (Matthew 28:19-20), it will take all of God’s people laboring together. Please prayerfully consider your commitment and role in the G.R.O.W. Visitation Ministry. And, please take your commitment seriously. In order for our G.R.O.W. teams to be effective we need people… WE NEED YOU!!! And you need G.R.O.W. Through G.R.O.W. you are able to take part in reaching others for Christ and sharing His love toward others.

COME G.R.O.W. WITH US!
